MALVERN WATER WORKS
Doing Our Best For You

DID YOU KNOW?

Grease is a major problem for city sewer systems. Most sewer overflows are caused by grease building up in sewer lines.

Allowing grease from cooking to enter your household drains can cause sewer overflows that can damage your property or your neighbor’s. Overflows are unsanitary and increase operations and maintenance cost, which will ultimately cause higher sewer bills for customers.

 YOU CAN HELP.

Never pour grease down sink drains or into toilets. Dispose of food scraps in the trash. Place basket strainers in sink drains to catch food scraps and other solids. Encourage your neighbors to be aware of how they can help.

FATS, OILS AND GREASES AREN’T JUST BAD FOR ARTERIES AND WAISTLINES, THEY ARE BAD FOR SEWERS TOO.

Sewer overflows and backups cans cause health hazards, damage property and the environment. A major cause of overflows is sewer pipes blocked by grease from household drains as well as poorly maintained commercial grease traps.

 DO YOUR PART.
