Now that you know how to read the meter here is what you do
with it. Read your water meter on the 1st day of the month. Subtract the
previous month's reading from it. For example, if the previous month's
reading was 41865 and this month's reading is 41897 you would
subtract 41865 from 41897. 3,200 is the water
usage in gallons you had for the month.
You can use the Water Usage Calculator to get an estimate of your water
bill. It will calculate the gallons used from the meter readings and
estimate your water bill according to the type of water customer you are.
